Dallas, Texas 07/18/2013 (Financialstrend) – The first test flight of United Airlines Boeing 73-800 aircraft retrofitted with the new Split Scimitar Winglet was done on Tuesday in Everett, Washington. This innovative winglet advances on the current combined winglets integrated presently has on its Next-Generation 737 fleet. This advanced winglet will offer a natural hedge against rising fuel costs while instantaneouslydropping carbon releases. United’s Vice President of Fleet Ron Baur had announced that they appreciate APB’s focus in helping United become even more fuel efficient.

The new winglet proposal confirmed important aircraft drag reduction over the basic blended winglet structure United uses on its current fleet.

Once testing and FAA certification of the winglets are complete, United will initiate retrofitting various fleets with the new winglets beginning early next year.
