ESPN and Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) are teaming up to offer a 24/7 college sports channel, planned by Sirius XM, that will offer fans the in-depth AND most comprehensive college sports coverage available. The launch of ESPNU Radio on Sirius XM was done August 31. It is available exclusively to company’s subscribers via satellite radios, the app and on connected devices including Amazon Alexa devices, Sony PlayStation and smart TVs.
ESPNU Radio on Sirius XM will bring together the artistic college sports hosts and professionals from both firms. It will continue to showcase Sirius XM’s daily college sports programs Full Ride, Playbook, Off Campus and The First Team, as well as the weekend programs College Football Sunday and College Sports Sunday.
Sirius XM analysts and hosts on the channel include Rick Neuheisel, Greg McElroy, Jonathan Vilma, Ryan Leaf, Steve Spurrier, Phil Savage, Danny Kanell, Brad Hopkins, James Laurinaitis, A.J. Hawk, Bobby Cremins, Fran Fraschilla, Charles Arbuckle, Tom Brennan, Taylor Zarzour, Mark Packer, Chris Childers, Seth Greenberg, Steve Lappas, David Moulton, Braden Gall, Rachel Baribeau and Andy Staples.
ESPN’s college sports talent will come at the channel to offer analysis and converse on the topics of the day. Kirk Herbstreit, the ESPN college football analyst and Jay Bilas, the college basketball analyst will appear weekly on ESPNU Radio on Sirius XM throughout their relevant seasons. Other ESPN commentators and experts will be seen on the channel.
ESPNU Radio on Sirius XM will broadcast ESPN shows including College Gameday live during the college football season, College Football Live Daily, the College Football Top 25 Show, College Basketball Gameday and others. It will even broadcast some of the biggest college sporting events of year live, including the National Championship games and College Football Playoff Semifinal. The channel will be the exclusive platform for the first run of numerous ESPN college sports podcasts.
