PepsiCo, Inc. (NASDAQ:PEP) announced plans to expand its SodaStream brand in the U.S with the introduction of SodaStream Professional. The mobile-enabled platform will allow users to personalize and digitally track their intake of water-forward beverages while reducing the use of plastic bottles. The company has already run a successful pilot test among key customers. SodaStream Professional will be unveiled this fall and will help support the health of consumers and preserve the planet.

SodaStream’s popularity growing in the US

SodaStream Professional is an improvement of SodaStream, the leading maker of at-home sparkling water that PepsiCo in 2018. SodaStream’s popularity in the US has been growing thanks to its bringing customizable beverages to airports, college campuses, and workplaces. The new platform will allow consumers choose from various carbonation levels, unsweetened flavors, and temperatures to create the right drink. Consumers will be able to enjoy further personalization like setting hydration goals, recording favorite drink combinations, and also track the number of plastic bottles saves. This is made possible by the accompanying SodaStream Connect mobile app.

The new platform expands PepsiCo’s footprints in the US and innovation in the company’s “Beyond the Bottle” portfolio, which helps the company make progress towards creating a world free from plastic waste. PepsiCo has developed a strategy to cut on the amount of plastics in its circulation and increase recycling of its material.
