Cereplast Inc (OTCMKTS:CERP) mainly conducts its operations via  product families, like Cereplast Hybrid Resins, Cereplast Compostables resins and Cereplast Algae-Plastic resins. In 2011 October, Cereplast Inc (OTCMKTS:CERP) acquired a manufacturing plant in Assisi.

Cereplast’s Compostables resins are compostable & bio-based, ecologically-sound substitutes that are used in petroleum-based plastics and target primarily-compostable bags, single use food-service products & packaging applications. Cereplast Inc (OTCMKTS:CERP) offers 13 different commercial-grades of Compostable-resins in this particular product line. Cereplast Sustainables’ resins are partly/fully bio-based, ecologically sound substitutes that are used in fully petroleum-based plastics and mainly target durable goods and packaging applications. Cereplast Inc (OTCMKTS:CERP) offers 6 commercial-grades of Sustainable-resins in this specific product line.

Cereplast Hybrid-Resins products replace upto 55 percent of petroleum content in conventional-plastics with the bio-based materials, like industrial starches that are sourced from plants. The Hybrid-resins line is specifically-designed to offer these similar properties to other traditional polyolefins, like impact strength & heat -deflection temperature. It is compatible with the existing converter-processes & equipment.
