Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has some good news for the Fire tablets users who can now enjoy a better late-night viewing experience on their device. Reportedly, a Blue Shade feature has been added in the Amazon Fire Tablet that will filter a blue light that will help maintaining the sleep patterns. The Blue Shade can be activated through the Quick Settings menu on the tab and offers less brightness on display to offer comfortable reading in darkness or at night. The user can customize the colors of the screen too as per their preference.
Activity Center Feature
An Activity Center feature has also been added in the device that will help the parents in monitoring the activities of the kids on the tablets. The browser history of the kid’s use would be easily accessible to the parents and they will be able to control their kids tablet activities.
A web browser that would simplify browsing the internet has also been created by the company for the kids and over 40,000 curated websites and YouTube videos have also been selected for the kids so that they can browse only safe sites.
The updated features are available in the Fire HD 10, Fire HD 8 and other Fire tablets. The kid’s browser would be available in Amazon FreeTime and Fire Kids Edition of the tablets.
Youtube Kids Tab
A YouTube kids tab has also been added on YouTube in order to monitor and help the children in viewing only content that is appropriate for them. The parents are more aware of the misuse of the internet by the kids and the step is in the right direction to help kids only view what they should. As the kids version of the tab is limited to pre-school kids, the higher secondary kids will not benefit with the app as the content would be lesser relevant to them. Consumer advocates have also raised their concern in this regard. According to these bodies, the apps are just deceptive and do not control the activities of the kids while using the devices designed for them unless all inappropriate sites are blocked fully for them.
